For Immediate Release
November 18th, 2022 – Today, Trades NL President Tom Woodford visited The Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters in St. John’s NL, to present a cheque in support of their annual Christmas Kettle Campaign.
Trades NL Members are among the first to support this year’s campaign, which helps provide direct, compassionate, hands-on service to over 1.9 million people each year throughout Canada, restoring hope and dignity to those who might otherwise remain invisible in society.
Earlier this year, Trades NL members donated $5,000 to The Salvation Army: Port Aux Basques in support of relief efforts and families affected by Hurricane Fiona.
“Our members are always willing to lend support to those in need,” says Trades NL’s Executive Director, Darin King. “As the holidays can sometimes be a challenging time for families and individuals, our members are pleased to support the efforts of the annual Christmas Kettle Campaign – and I encourage anyone who is able to donate to consider giving to The Salvation Army.”
“We are delighted to continue our support for The Salvation Army and the work they do in caring for communities across the province,” says Trades NL’s President, Tom Woodford. “Community giving is a big part of what we do at Trades NL and when our members are working, countless others benefit too.”
The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is a fundraising effort that occurs each year during the Christmas season. Kettles are found in 2,000 locations across Canada and are an opportunity for the public to donate whatever funds they can to support the work of The Salvation Army during the Christmas season and throughout the year.
