December 8, 2023 – Trades NL is proud to announce the launch of the College of Skilled Trades NL.
The new college will offer state of the art training over six campuses. At each campus, candidates can complete their pre-apprenticeship training and progress through their training to journeyperson and red seal in a variety of different trades.
The College of Skilled Trades NL will offer other training, above and beyond the primary trades training, ensuring that our membership continues to be the best trained and most qualified workforce available.
The college also has a significant virtual component to support potential skilled trades workers still looking to explore the trades with information on the current Newfoundland and Labrador labour market, trade attributes, requirements, and salaries in the province.
There are support materials available for pre-apprentices beginning training as well as specific information to assist in preparation for red seal exams.
“Our goal is to expand on this launch and to use the website to advertise and promote increased training opportunities for trades workers at all of our campuses,” says Executive Director, Darin King.
“We would like to thank Skill Plan for their support in the development of the virtual component of our college, and for their ongoing professional and technical support,” says King. “None of the work we do be possible without the continuing collaboration with the Apprenticeship Division of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. They ensure trades programs are current, relevant and accessible.”
