For Immediate Release:
November 8th, 2022 – Trades NL is proud to announce their Indigenous Skilled Trades Office has been shortlisted for the St. John’s Board of Trade Culture Creator Award for their 2022 Business Resilience Awards.
“It is very exciting to see that our Indigenous Office staff are being recognized for the work that they do,” says Trades NL’s Executive Director, Darin King. “Our Indigenous Skilled Trades Office staff are a diverse group of Indigenous professionals that have done an incredible amount of work since the office opened in 2020 – effectively recruiting, promoting, supporting, and advancing the economic and professional growth of Indigenous Populations of Newfoundland and Labrador within the skilled trades. This is the type of work that continues to grow healthy, working communities and I’d like to thank the St. John’s Board of Trade for acknowledging how our staff continue to make everyone who walks through their doors feel welcomed, included and valued.”
“We are honoured to have been nominated for this award”, says Trades NL Indigenous Skilled Trades Office Manager, Stanley Oliver. “We have created a culture within our office that we believe gives our clients the confidence to become successful in their skilled trades career and we take great pride in seeing them do well. After effectively growing our client base to over 400 in 2022, we look to 2023 with great optimism as we continue to expand our service base to meet the needs of more Indigenous Peoples on the island.”
Every year the St. John’s Board of Trade celebrates the best of the business community at the Business Resilience Awards. The 2022 award winners will be announced on November 24th at the St. John’s Board of Trade Business Resilience Awards Gala. To learn more about the awards visit this link.
