For Immediate Release
December 16th, 2022 – Today, Trades NL representatives visited the Community Food Sharing Association to donate $5000 worth of food in an effort to aid Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who struggle to provide food for their families.
“Food should be accessible to everyone,” says Trades NL’s Executive Director, Darin King. “During a challenging year that has resulted in higher food costs for all, we hope our donation will help families who are struggling to make ends meet – especially during this time of year. Our members are proud to provide food for families and we are honoured to do our part in supporting the fight against hunger throughout Newfoundland & Labrador.”
“The Community Sharing Association would like to extend a sincere thank you to Trades NL for their very generous donation” says Community Food Sharing Association General Manager, Tina Bishop. “This donation will have a significant impact in helping us ensure we are able to continue to offer support by providing food to some 56 food banks throughout the province as they continue to see a significant increase in demand on their services from those struggling to put food on the table for their families during this holiday season.”
At the Community Food Sharing Association it has been our mission to meet two important goals: Our immediate goal is to feed hungry people. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that, by easing the struggles of the poorest in the province, no one goes hungry.
