Building Trades Council Receives Commitment on Wages

Trades NL / Resource Development Trades Council (RDTC) met with the Premier this morning and received a commitment that Astaldi Canada workers wages will be covered by Nalcor.

“This morning, after several conversations and a meeting with Premier Ball, we received a commitment that all wages owed to our workers for work to date with Astaldi Canada will be paid.  We appreciate the Premier’s intervention and willingness to work with us on behalf of the effected workers at the Muskrat Falls project site.”

  • Darin King, Executive Director, Trades NL

Trades NL / RDTC will continue working closely with Nalcor over the next few days to ensure that the workers get their pay cheque, estimated at $2 million.  In the meantime, efforts continue to secure the outstanding remittances.
